Buoyancy
The water molecule is one of the most important chemical structures to life on Earth. As we embark upon our studies in science, we started by examining the strength of the molecular bond between the hydrogen and oxygen atoms by looking at the surface tension of water... watching drops on a penny form a ____________. (Ask you Merganser.)
We will be further looking at water by exploring boats and displacement. And then let's discuss the difference between ships floating and airplanes flying. One of our Mergansers asked to make paper airplanes and perhaps compete in categories such as distance and tricks... Stay tuned!
The changing season, the fall equinox, falling water molecules from the sky... We turn our attention to the atmosphere, to the cosmos, to astronomy, the hydrological cycle of the planet, the geological make-up of Earth and the planets, moons, and the many celestial bodies.
Keep asking your Merganser questions!
